How Does Your Hair Tolerate Travel?

Keeping your hair hydrated while travelling is the most economical and effortless way to sustain its health and vitality.

Differing PH levels of water, humidity, air conditioning, aeroplane pressure, sea water and chlorine all contribute to drying and tangling your hair.

I never leave home without my silk pillowcase. I travel with a pink case so that it is a different colour to the normally white bedsheets found in hotels – meaning I have less chance of forgetting to take it when I leave.

Keeping my hair lightly braided at night also helps to keep it tangle free. I always go to bed with a glass of water on my bedside table and enjoy a large glass of water with freshly squeezed lemon first thing in the morning.

I also use a good quality shampoo and conditioner (the same one I use at home) and I apply a hair oil every morning and night. I find this not only prevents tangles, but keeps my hair - that has been lightened with bleach - moisturised and happy.
